Lady Antebellum Meets The Boss

| July 15, 2012

On Saturday, Lady Antebellum performed an outdoor concert in London’s Hyde Park.  What made it even more special was they were opening for Bruce Springsteen!  When they were co-hosts on Country Countdown USA, the trio told Lon Helton they lucked out by getting the gig: “We won the lottery on that one!  We’re all huge Springsteen fans.  We were planning a tour in Europe around that time so I think that’s how it came about.”  Hillary said, “I’m excited to get our show done and watch his cause I’ve never seen him play before.”

Also on the bill was rocker and former Creedence Clearwater Revival leader John Fogerty.  Springsteen took the stage, played a three hour lengthy set, and then introduced a surprise guest: Paul McCartney.  The two rock legends jammed on old Beatles songs, including “I Saw Her Standing There” and “Twist & Shout.”  But at 10:45 PM, the local authorities cut the power to the stage, and the concert was over.

Still, it was a memorable day for the Lady A crew.  They tweeted this photo with the captian, ‘Four giddy musicians got to meet one of our heroes.”  Hillary added, “Amazing time in Hyde Park. We got to meet The Boss (I died) and ran into Needtobreathe.”
