Lon Helton Hosts CMA Kick Off

| June 8, 2012

The weather was unseasonably cool and sunny Thursday morning as Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton hosted the CMA Music Fest Kick Off Concert at the Riverfront Stage in downtown Nashville.  The first performer was the  veteran duo Montgomery Gentry.  The concert launched the annual 4-day event.  Other performers Thursday morning included Craig Morgan, Lee Brice, Josh Thompson, Neal McCoy, and more.

In mid-afternoon, it was announced that tickets for all four of the nightly stadium concerts were sold out.  This is the third year that has happened.

By the evening, the festival moved across the river to LP Field, where the NFL Tennessee Titans play.  Performers Thursday night included Miranda Lambert, her super trio Pistol Annies, Lady Antebellum, Jason Aldean, Zac Brown Band, and Brad Paisley.  Brad was joined during his set by the legendary Hank Williams Jr.
