Carrie: Please Buy Our House!
When Carrie Underwood married Mike Fisher two years ago, he was a hockey star for the Ottawa Senators. After their wedding, they built a new house in Ottawa, complete with a “man room” for Mike’s hunting trophies. Then last year, Mike was traded to the Nashville Predators. So have they sold the house in Canada? Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton asked Carrie: “We’d LIKE to! That would be awesome! Please buy our house. It’s really nice. It’s got a dude room, wine cellar, some land, you can have some horses.”
So how did you get along with the playoff beard? “Mike can grow a nice one, he has no shortage of follicles. I never dated a guy with facial hair. But he has a lot of scars on his face, so he always has to have some stubble or you can pick them out. So I like it on him. When he shaves to close, I tell him. But he can grow a nice beard, and I’m (ahem) supportive of it. But it’s obviously weird to kiss him when he’s got that going on there.”

How do you feel about the violence of the sport? “Mike can handle himself. There was one time I was concerned. He got hit in the face with a puck. That was the worst of it. When he gets in fights, I’m not worried. I’m like, ‘Get him, baby!’ The crowd here in Nashville is amazing. That’s the first thing I noticed when he got traded here. In Canada they love hockey, but they’re so serious about it. I had a hard time trying to keep up. In Nashville, you don’t have to know anything. You go and have fun. It’s not as much pressure on the players, and it’s not so serious. People cheer, we sing songs, we cheer, some of it’s not so great, some of it I don’t say all the words, like I can’t say ‘sucks.’ The Nashville crowd tells the other team that they suck a lot. So sometimes I’ll say “good luck.” That’s just me. It’s just so mean to tell someone they suck! But the crowd is wonderful, we have musicians who play, like Vince Gill, Diamond Rio, Alice Cooper, Charlie Daniels.”
