Kelsea Ballerini Co-Hosts 2/26-27
This week’s co-host is Kelsea Ballerini. Her current Top 5 is “Half of My Hometown” featuring Kenny Chesney. The song is nominated for ACM Music Event of the Year, and Kelsea will perform on the awards show on March 7th.
Last week, Kelsea attended a movie premiere in Nashville with Tim McGraw & Faith Hill. She told Lon, “I was sitting next to Faith, and I talked to her quite a bit. I asked Faith about ‘1883,’ and she said they just got home from filming at the end of January. After that, they went to see all of their kids in college or their homes, and they had just returned from that.”
Kelsea talked about her experience as guest coach on The Voice: “Kelly called me at 9PM one night, and she said, ‘I’m under the weather, and I can’t do the battle rounds this season, and I need you.’ I asked when, and she said, ‘Tomorrow at 1PM you’re in the chair.’ So I got on a plane, and I sat in her chair, and it was amazing, it was such a good experience. That’s another dream job of mine.” Kelly’s team ended up winning last season.
As you can see from the photo, Kelly has let her hair go dark during the last few months. She explained: I just needed a change, like a self-inflicted change, everything else has been chosen for me. So I needed a change, I always wanted to go back to my natural color, so scratch the itch.”
Next up for Kelsea is working on new music: “It’s all I’m doing right now. I’m just having fun to make a record and dive in. I’ll probably never do it the other way again, where I try to cram it in between shows”
Kelsea also has great stories this week about Blake Shelton, Walker Hayes, Kane Brown, Thomas Rhett, and The Jonas Brothers.
