Carrie’s Back! Wins 3 CMT Awards
She’s been out of the public eye for the past six months, as she had a baby boy, Isaiah, in February. But tonight, Carrie Underwood was back, performing on the CMT Music Awards and winning three of the buckle trophies, including Video Of The Year. In accepting the night’s top award, she thanked her many fans: “I have the best fans in the world, I really do,” She now has a total of 13 CMT Awards, the most of any artist.
It’s a fan-voted award, and Carrie knows a lot about winning fan-voted competitions, having been named American Idol ten years ago. In fact, it was exactly ten years ago this week that Carrie attended her first CMT Music Awards, and then performed at the CMA Music Festival. “It’s crazy to think ten years ago I came to Nashville post-Idol, it’s crazy to think it’s been ten years! So much has happened.”
Carrie will return to the CMA Music Festival this week, headlining the stadium show Saturday night.
