Carrie Won’t Go To Super Bowl
Every week this fall, Carrie Underwood sang the theme for NBC’s Sunday Night Football. And when the Super Bowl begins this Sunday night on NBC, Carrie will once again sing the theme. But she told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton she won’t actually attend the game in Phoenix: “I am going to be insanely pregnant! But I’ll be watching for sure. I don’t know if I’ve ever not watched a Super Bowl, so it’s going to be cool. And I do kind of get to kick off the Super Bowl, because obviously NBC has it, and we did our ‘Waitin’ All Day for the Super Bowl.’ I already recorded every possible combination. When I go in, I record the base of it, and then record any possible combination of people who could be playing on Sunday Night Football and the Super Bowl. It made for a long day, but we got it done. They always give me the option, and I say, ‘Let’s just do it now. Get it done.”
Although Carrie won’t be at the game, it’s likely that other country stars will be in the stadium. Blake Shelton also works for NBC-TV, so he’s likely to be there. Kenny Chesney told Lon a few weeks ago that he intended to go. Jason Aldean is doing a show in Phoenix the night before.
The New England Patriots will meet the defending champion Seattle Seahawks for the Super Bowl this Sunday night on NBC-TV.
