McGraw Girls Still Love Taylor

Taylor Swift’s latest album is pop, but Tim McGraw’s teenage daughters still love it.  Tim talked about it with Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton: “They love it, they love what she’s doing.  She’s brilliant.  She’s a great artist, and she’s great for all music.  Look at what she’s done.  Look what she did with her last album, the sales she’s had when nobody thought that would happen.  So she’s doing great things for music.  She’s a very smart person, she’s a very talented person, she’s an incredible songwriter. To continue to build on the success she’s had, and you don’t see that very often with artists who started as young as she did.  It’s tough to see someone who keeps translating to different people and different groups of people.”

It’s hard to believe that she just turned 25, because she’s been around for so long.  You think she’ll come back to country?  “I can see her coming back to country someday, and I’ll be right there lined up to sing with her if she wants me to when she does that.”

What do you think of her new album? “It’s just really good, and if something comes from your heart, and it’s good, it’s gonna work.  It doesn’t matter how many loops it has in it, doesn’t matter if it has the same phrases in it, if it’s good and comes from the heart, it’s gonna move people and it’s gonna work.  An artist has to do what the artist wants to do.  If they start doing what somebody else wants them to do, they’ll get lost, and it’ll become clichéd.  But if you lead with your art and your heart and making what you want with your music, then you’re always gonna win.  Taylor could be the biggest star in the world right now, and she started right here with us!
