Brantley Gilbert Is A Minister
Brantley Gilbert may be best known as a country star, but he’s also an ordained minister! He told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton that he’s actually officiated at a few weddings:
I understand you’re an ordained minister? How’d that come about? We did it online about 2 or 3 years ago. We did it so I could marry some close friends of mine. This guy’s a motorcycle enthusiast. I was joking about it at the St. Jude radiothon in Memphis, and there was a radio station there, and they said ‘We need to do a wedding.’ So I agreed to do it. So I’m pretty excited about it because I have a robe! It’s an awesome robe, it’s a white robe with black stripes on it, and it’s a minister’s robe. So yeah, we’re gonna cut a rug and do a wedding. The funny part is I’ll have to put my cell phone inside my Bible so I can read what I’m supposed to say. This will be the first civilian wedding I’m doing.”
That wedding took place last week in Mobile, Alabama, just before the annual Bayfest Country Music Festival. The local radio station held a contest, and the happy couple are Brianna Tolbert and Colby Jenkins. After the wedding, the two were invited on Brantley’s bus for refreshments.
