Cole “Busted” by Jason Aldean

We know that Cole Swindell sold t-shirts for Luke Bryan.  But we didn’t know if he was any good at it.  Now we know!  Two years ago, Luke was on tour with Jason Aldean.  So when Jason co-hosted the Countdown, he told Lon Helton this story about a young Cole Swindell:

Jason: The thing I remember about Cole is, the merch guys load everything in, then they sell, and whatever didn’t sell, they have to load back into the trucks.  So Cole wanted to hang out and party after the shows, so he’d pay my merch guys, he say, ‘I’ll give you $100 if you load my stuff so I can hang out.’  So I’m glad to see your music career is taking off, because you didn’t have much of a career as a merch guy.”

Cole responded: Wow, Aldean busting me out on Lon Helton!  I can’t even deny that! That’s so true.  You’re right Aldean, thanks for supporting me and my music.  I’ve got my own merch guy now, and I hope he’s a whole lot better than I was.  I’m gonna get him back for that one.

How well did you know Jason?  At that time, I was a huge fan of his music, and to be around that, and being around the scene was a huge help when I got my record deal.  I don’t remember what show or shows he was talking about but I’m glad I got to meet Aldean, and I hope he & I have good things in the future.
