Tyler Farr & The Pink Boot
Lots of crazy stories happen out on the road. This one came to us from Jerrod Niemann when he co-hosted in April. Jerrod told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton about his good friend Tyler Farr and the Pink Boot story: “We were in Colorado, and one morning he comes up with a pink boot. He tells me, ‘I hung out with a beautiful lady last night, and she left this boot.’ And I said, ‘That’s odd. I can’t imagine someone wearing just one boot. Maybe she wore your boot.’ He goes, ‘Oh man!’ He goes to the back lounge, and comes back and says, ‘One of my boots is gone!'”
So Lon played that story this week for Tyler when he co-hosted the Countdown, and this was his response: “Lord have mercy. You’re not getting the full fun story, but I’ll give it as much justice as I can. Here’s what happened. There were several ladies on the bus. This is back when we were young and immature. One of them must have lost their boot while she was dancing. She felt like she needed to take my boot. I don’t know how she did.”
Lon then observed, “This sounds like the redneck Cinderella story, where a girl leaves a slipper behind, except it’s a boot.”
Tyler responded, “No, I’m not looking for Cinderella. I dipped it in gold and it now sits on my coffee table. I could care less, I lost a boot. I took it home for a keepsake. I keep stupid stuff like that for memories down the road to tell my grandkids. The funny thing is when I woke up the next morning, I thought it was hilarious, who lost a pink boot? So I had to borrow the bus driver’s Doc Martins. I actually went trout fishing the next day in Doc Martins. They were like size 8. I do have small feet, but they’re 9-1/2. Ten on a good day. These were 8s, my feet hurt, and I had to wear Doc Martins on stage.”
