Brett Eldredge #1 Shark Swim
When Brett Eldredge co-hosted the Countdown a couple months ago, he told Lon Helton that if his latest hit “Beat of the Music” went to #1, he’d overcome his own fears and swim with sharks. “I said I’d go cage diving if Beat of the Music went #1.” So the song went to #1 in June, and last week, Brett was in the Bahamas and made good on his promise: “People celebrate No. 1’s and gold singles in different ways. I just happen to be lucky enough to have some of my best friends in the world come out and celebrate with me in a BIG way. I want to thank everyone at country radio, my management and promotion teams and my family, friends and fans who have supported me all of these years. Life is good. Rock the Ocean. Love life….it’s all you’ve gotta do!” Brett made the dive at Stuart’s Cove in conjunction with the Rock The Ocean Foundation.
As you can see, Brett is underwater, and those are live sharks swimming behind him. He is holding two plaques, one for Beat of the Music going #1, and the other for the song selling over a half million copies. There are plans for a more conventional celebration the next time Brett and his fellow writers are in Nashville. In the meantime, Brett is joining Keith Urban on the Raise ‘Em Up Tour.
