Brantley Gilbert Pranks McGraw
Brantley Gilbert spent all of last year on the road with Tim McGraw. Brantley told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton there were a couple surprises on the final night of the tour: “I don’t know he was a jokester, but he got me pretty good. The last song of the last show on that tour, I had three new guests on stage, and I’m not sure what they were. They were dressed up like women, but I’m pretty sure that wasn’t the case. It was funny, cause I’m watching these people dance around, and they didn’t come within ten feet of me. I found out later that Tim told them ‘You can mess around with the band, but I’d stay clear of the lead guy cause he might knock the hell outta ya.’ So I had to get him back. I couldn’t think of anything to do. So my guitar player is a bit smaller than me, he wears a size 28 jean. Tim can wear tight jeans. So I put on my guitar player’s jeans, put some cowboy boots on, and actually put on a cowboy hat on, which I never do. I cut one of my black shirts off. I had his manager draw the Jesus fish on the inside of my arm, and she drew “Faith” right here. Plus I stuffed some shirts down the front of my jeans. It was so funny, I came out every night and did ‘Truck Yeah’ with him. That night, when he saw what I was wearing, he literally doubled over laughing. I don’t think the song got sung.”
