Dierks Welcomes 1st Son Knox

Wednesday night at 10:30, Dierks Bentley announced the birth of his third child….a son:  “Well… our boy knox is here! about to have the best tasting cold beer of my life! so proud of my wife. she rocked it. crazy stuff. #beerme” The proud papa then tweeted: “mad respect for doctors, nurses and everyone at hospitals. can’t believe y’all do that day in and day out. hard work making miracles happen.”

Back in August, Dierks told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton was concerned about being home for the birth:  “There’s like an 8 day window for my wife.  I’m like, ‘You have to be strategic with this.’  She goes, ‘What’s the priority here? The tour or the baby?’  Just have that baby on the due date, and we’ll be all good.”  As it turned out, Wednesday was the final day of the window, because Dierks is scheduled to rejoin Miranda Lambert on the Locked & Reloaded Tour on Thursday the 10th.

Possible baby names also came up when Dierks co-hosted the Countdown.  Dierks said he’d just heard from Luke Bryan, who told him: “His advice was the name needs to sound like someone you’d hang out with…wanna party with….have a cold beer with.  We’re running some names through the Luke Bryan filter.”  The name Knox sounds like something Luke would approve.
