Justin Moore Sings With Miranda

| September 14, 2013

Justin MirandaJustin Moore’s new album, “Off The Beaten Path,” contains a duet with Miranda Lambert called “Old Habits.” He told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton about it: “I heard this song, and immediately thought it should be a duet.  I knew it was for Miranda, and so I called her, she didn’t answer, I emailed, she didn’t respond.  So a week later I sent her the song, and she called me back.  She said, ‘That’s a great song!’ I said, ‘Do it with me,’ and she said, ‘I’m in.’  It was as simple as that.  What an honor to have her on my album, and I think it came out great.”

What’s it about?  It’s a breakup heartbreak song.  But the cool thing is as stone cold country of a song as I’ve ever recorded, which I feel is saying something.  It’s left up to your own interpretation.  It was written by a friend of mine from Arkansas.  I had just moved back there, and watched Good Morning Arkansas, and heard this guy sing.  I called  my producer, and told him you gotta hear this guy.  Lon story short, he now has a publishing deal and lives in Nashville.  His name is Adam Hambrick, and he’s supremely talented. I felt this guy deserves this.  One thing I’ve learned is this stuff happens to real people, and I’m proof of it.  I never dreamed I’d do this for a living.  If I can help out in any way, I’m proud he landed where he needed to land.
