Dierks’ Dog Flies First Class

A few weeks ago, Dierks Bentley appeared on the ABC TV show The View.  He did it to debut his new single, “I Hold On.”  The show asked if Dierks could bring his dog Jake.  That required some travel adjustments, as Dierks told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton: “They wanted Jake to be a co-host, but how was he going to get there?  I was in Las Vegas the night before.  Turns out Southwest Airlines will let him fly.  He had a handler, a friend of mine was his escort, but I got pictures of Jake on Southwest with a cold beer in front of him, looking out the window, they’re having fun with him.  He was in the second row, he’s an A-lister, First Class on Southwest Airlines.  So they flew him up there, I have these pictures of Jake walking around New York City, trying to find a tree for him to do his deal.  But he did great, he came on The View, sat next in the chair to me, at least for the first half, then he got tuckered out.  That was the selling point for me, to be in New York City with my dog.  But The View is great, the girls are great, it’s tough being the only guy up there, a lot of the questions were about relationships, but I think we did alright.  So did Jake.  He did good, he did really good.”
