Tim McGraw Meets a Legend
This year’s All For The Hall benefit concert brought together rebels and outlaws, past and present. Among the legends, you had Hank Williams Jr., Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson, along with current stars Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, and Eric Church. Tim told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton he took the opportunity to meet Kris Kristofferson: “It was really awesome, I’m a huge Kristofferson fan, I even had a song called ‘Kristofferson’ at one point. But I’m not as big a Kristofferson fan as my wife. She still gets weak in the knees around him. The first thing he said to me was, ‘Boy I really hated to hear your wife’s not gonna do Sunday Night Football any more.’ So I made sure to get a pitcure made with him for Faith. She wasn’t there that night. We also talked about songs and movies, we once talked about a book I had that I wanted to make a movie with him, couldn’t get it together. We also talked about how he’s feeling, life in general, how lucky we are to be doing this, just a nice conversation with a legend guy, who’s one of the coolest guys who’s ever been around in country music.”
Who else did you talk to at the benefit? “I talked to Trace Adkins for a little while. I watched the Apprentice. I loved watching that show. But I wouldn’t have the patience to do that. I don’t think I could ever pull that off.”
