Carrie Underwood Tour Exhibit
Carrie Underwood was in Nashville today to kick off a six-month exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum. The display featured costumes and memorabilia from her just-completed Blown Away World Tour. Carrie said, “This is such an amazing place, so just to have a little space in this place is really an honor. I was honored that they wanted to do this from the tour. It’s been a really incredible tour, so it’s exciting that it gets to live on, so people who didn’t get to see one of our shows can still come here and feel like they had been a part of it.” The year-long tour performed for more than a million fans in 110 cities in six countries.
Carrie also included some of the many gifts she received from fans during the tour, including hand-drawn signs, letters, and artwork. Carrie said, “Anything that somebody has taken the time to make, it’s all about the thought behind the gift, I don’t have to take pictures because they document my life and career, they make me books with pictures and letters.”
The Blown Away Tour Exhibit covers an entire wall in the Hall of Fame. “There’s definitely a lot of my tour wardrobe is going to be interesting to people that come see the exhibit, I’m excited for them to see that, and the pictures of us flying overhead, I really think people will get a chance to be a part of it. There’s also jewelry, microphones, all that good stuff.”
Members of Carrie’s fan club, in Nashville for the annual CMA Music Fest, were treated to a sneak peak of the exhibit today. “The got to be the first ones to see the exhibit at the Hall of Fame, and we had our #1 party for Two Black Cadillacs, and they got to be a part of that, so they had things they couldn’t see otherwise, and got to be a part of things that was cool and unusual.”
In addition, there will be a full DVD from Carrie’s Blown Away tour that will be available on August 13th. “We try to open our world to the fans of backstage stuff. There’s a lot of footage from our rehearsals, gining people insight into what goes into a tour, but I’m excited that people who came to tours can relive it, and people who couldn’t make it can definitely have a good experience by watching the DVD.”
Carrie has a full week of activities ahead of her. It’s her husband’s birthday on Wednesday, plus she performs on the CMT Music Awards Wednesday night. She will play two shows at the Grand Ole Opry on Friday, where they’ll celebrate her 5th anniversary as a member. Then she closes out CMA Fest with a performance at Nashville’s LP Field on Sunday night. The Blown Away Exhibit will continue at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum through November.
