Taylor: Whitney’s Death Was Huge
One year ago, the biggest stars in music were gathering in Los Angeles for the Grammy Awards. Suddenly, on Saturday night, the night before the Awards show, the news came out that Whitney Houston had died. That event will be documented in a TV special this Saturday night, titled “A Death In The Family.” A number of artists were interviewed for the special, including Jennifer Hudson, host LL COOL J, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, and Taylor Swift.
Shortly after last year’s Grammys, Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton spoke with Taylor Swift, who was at the show and won two awards. He asked her about Whitney Houston’s untimely death: “I had never met Whitney Houston, but I’ve seen her. I went to the Clive Davis party, and she got up and sang. She always looked so joyful. It was definitely a huge shroud over the Grammys, it really was very center stage in the minds of everyone who was there. So the loss of Whitney Houston was a huge part of the Grammys last year.” “The GRAMMY®s Will Go On: A Death In The Family” will air this Saturday night on CBS-TV.
