Paisley Hired A Choreographer

One of the highlights of the 2012 CMA Awards TV show was when Brad Paisley did his version of “Gangnam Style.”  But it came at a price.  Brad told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton he got some outside help: “I worked with Michael Jackson’s choreographer all week, I’m not kidding just to be able to not look like a fool.  Also, part of what makes it funny is I’m committed to it.  Lon, I’ve never done anything like that.  I’ve never danced for any reason other than a wedding reception.”

There were a lot of other moments from the show Brad remembers: “I was putting on rubber gloves ready to deliver Jennifer Nettles baby.  I really thought we should have had that baby that night.  That’s how you make history.  That’s how you get ratings!”

In the past, both Brad & Carrie have admitted changing the script at the last minute.  But Brad says last year’s show took the deadline to the edge:  “We ended up rewriting a lot of our monologue.  So much of that was the first time we did it was on TV that night.  It was necessary.  We had one thing with a special guest that couldn’t do it, and we had another bit that wasn’t working, it wasn’t funny, and we ended up coming up witha  couple lines that I thought were hysterical.”
