McGraw: Taylor Blew Me Away

Tim McGraw’s new CD includes his first duet with Taylor Swift.  The song is called “Highway Don’t Care,” and also has guitar work from Keith Urban.  Tim told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton how he chose Taylor for the song: “I can’t wait for people to hear this song.  The lyric is so cinematic, and when I heard it I knew exactly who I wanted to sing on it, because her voice fit perfectly with the character in that song, where it’s coming from.  When I heard what she had done, it really blew me away.  There’s such a depth in her delivery on this song.  I’m excited for people to hear it.  I think she did a stellar job.”

So will the public get a chance to see Tim & Taylor sing “Highway Don’t Care” together at some point?  He told Lon, “I hope so.  I think that’s certainly everybody’s hope. We all want to do that.”  If you look at the track listing on Tim’s new CD, the song is #13, and Tim says that’s on purpose: “On the standard version of the album, there are 11 songs, but this song is listed as #13.   That’s her lucky number and she was gracious enough to do this song, I would honor her lucky number.”
