Toby Keith Loses “Body Part”
Back in July, in the middle of his Live In Overdrive tour, Toby Keith had emergency gall bladder surgery. He only missed one show, which was rescheduled to a later date. Apparently, the surgery came after at least three attacks. Toby spoke with Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton about the experience: “I had an attack, I thought it was weird indigestion back in December. Then it was gone for three months, and didn’t think anything about it. I thought it was a cramp. Then in March I was on the golf course, and by the third hole, I hit my drive, and then I started feeling that same thing I had three months earlier. Me & the guys hit our second shots, and by the time I got to the green, I was doubled over, and dry heaving, broke out in a sweat. Everybody says when you have a gall bladder attack, it feels like a heart attack. And I didn’t think it was that bad. It felt like a stomach cramp. So I had my buddy take me in my cart and take me to the club house. And the drive was enough shaking that the stone may have moved. Because it went away, and I went back out to finish my game. I didn’t have anything for three more months, and then in late July, I woke up and I was doubled over and went ten rounds with Tyson. The next day, I got an ultra-sound, and they told me my gall bladder needed to be removed. It was almost like relief, because I knew something was bad. So when they told me I had gall stones, and it needed to be removed, I was glad. So we got it taken out immediately. I haven’t noticed anything changed, but it’s just weird when they start takin’ body parts from you.”
Toby was back in the road for WE Fest on August 2nd. That was where he shot the video for his current hit, “I Like Girls That Drink Beer.”
