Kenny Connection to New Band
For more than ten years, fans at Kenny Chesney’s concerts got to know fiddle player Nick Hoffman. He was featured during “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy,” as well as other songs in Kenny’s show. Last year, Nick began writing and performing with a couple of other Nashville musicians, and formed their own group called The Farm. Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton asked Kenny about Nick: “He was 19 when he started with me. I looked over my right shoulder and saw Nick a lot of years, and Nick was a part of all of it. He saw it all happen. I’m really happy for Nick, trying his own thing. And I encouraged it, he didn’t know if he was going to come out with us this year or do that, and I told him you can’t do both things and do them both well. If you stay here, you’re going to do yourself a disservice by not going after this dream. It’s hard enough. You can’t do it halfway, because it’s hard enough doing it the whole way. I’m happy for him, I wish him all the luck in the world. I like his record a lot. Nick has always had great stage presence, and he brought that to the band. We miss him, but I’m happy for what’s going on in his life, and hopefully they’ll continue to have success.
