Eric Church Gets Zac’s Vest

If you watched the CMA Awards a couple months ago, you may have seen Zac Brown wearing a beautiful custom-made leather vest from the Jack Daniels Distillery.  Eric Church told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton that he definitely noticed the vest, and spoke with Zac about it: “Zac was sitting across from me, and Zac had a leather vest with Old #7 on the front, and an image of Jack Daniels embroidered on the back. It was just a stunning vest.  He came by and I was envious.  I told him, ‘That’s a great vest, it’s awesome.’  And it was right before The Band Perry kicked my tail again for New Artist.  I gotta get away from them.  But anyway, they announced Band Perry as the winner, and Zac took off the vest, gave me the vest, and I tried to give it back, but he said, ‘I appreciate what you do.’  I’ve got it, it’s one of my prized posessions, it’s hand made, it meant a lot to me.  Not a lot of people know that, it’s not something I tell people, but it meant a lot to me.”

By the way, it turns out that Eric has a Jack Daniels connection as well.  “We’re doing a Jack Daniels promotion during my tour.  We’re going to do a barrel tasting for fans backstage.  Some of our VIP Experience will be a tasting from our own Jack Daniels barrel, a barrel that I personally picked out.  It’s something that will be fun to share with the fans.”
