David Nail’s World Series Moment

| January 14, 2012

Missouri native David Nail is a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.  He’s been fortunate to spend a lot of time around his favorite team.  Last year, he was part of a CMT series called “Making The Team,” where he tried out for the team.  “I would like to think I didn’t embarrass myself too much, but it was a huge thrill.”

Then last fall, David got to sing at Game 7 of the World Series. “We were on the road with Taylor Swift, and my manager comes to me and says, ‘There’s a chance you may be doing the National Amthem at Game 7 of the World Series.’  The reason was Chris Daughtry had some travel issues due to the rain-out of Game 6.  An hour later, my manager comes to me and says ‘Daughtry worked out his travel, but they’ve invited you to sing God Bless America.’  So we went up there for Game 6, and that was obviously an amazing game.  There were times it looked like there was no Game 7.  But it was one of the most beautiful things I’d ever seen.  Withing 30 minutes I went through celebrating the Cardinals winning Game 6 to preparing for singing in Game 7.  It was amazing, St. Louis is a great baseball town.”
