Happy Birthday Taylor Swift!

Taylor Swift received an early birthday present Sunday when the Nashville Symphony presented her their annual Harmony Award.  The crystal vase is given for contributions to the development and appreciation of musical culture.  No doubt that the impact of her tour and album have done that. 

In addition, Taylor’s Speak Now World Tour was the top-grossing country tour of the year, beating out Kenny Chesney, who was #2.  Her 3rd album, “Speak Now,” was also the top-selling country CD of the year.  Jason Aldean’s “My Kinda Party” was next.

Tuesday December 13 is Taylor’s 22nd birthday.  It’s also the day CMT will air its annual Artist of the Year special.  Taylor is one of five artists celebrated.  The four others are Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, and Brad Paisley.

Looking back at 2011, Taylor won the ACM Entertainer of the Year in April, CMT Music Video of the Year in June, CMA Entertainer of the Year and the American Music Awards’ Artist of the Year in November, and then three Grammy nominations in December.  Definitely a year to remember for Taylor Swift, and it gives her a lot to reflect on as she celebrates her 22nd birthday.
