Eli Young Band Celebrates First #1

The Eli Young Band was in Springfield Illinois Saturday night when they found out their current hit had become their first #1.  The quartet was doing a show as part of Dierks Bentley’s Country & Cold Cans tour.  Dierks, aware of the occasion, presented them with a cake (see photo) for their accomplishment.  Dierks tweeted, “Congrats to the Eli Young Band on #1 Crazy Girl.  Well deserved.”  The Band responded, “Thank you so much everyone!  Y’all are the greatest group of people.  Thanks to Dierks for the awesome congrats tonight on stage.”  

When the group co-hosted the Countdown, lead singer Mike Eli described the mood on the tour this way: “I think Dierks just chose a few drinkin’ buddies to bring on the road.  It’s been great, everyone’s had a great time.  Dierks has been great, believed in the way we make music, and we like the way he’s gone about it too.  His outlook on his career was to go out and play the shows.  To see him night after night is really inspiring for a band like us.”
