Rodney Atkins Celebrates 6th #1

Rodney Atkins celebrated his 6th #1 in Nashville on Monday.  He told the media, “This is awesome, it’s been so long since the last one, great feeling, this song connecting.  To have a song that explodes like that is amazing.”  Rodney co-hosted Country Countdown USA this past weekend, where he was able to introduce his song at the #1 spot.  He told host Lon Helton, “You don’t take it for granted because it’s beyond your wildest dream.”

Rodney just celebrated a personal milestone a few days ago.  His son Elijah celebrated his 10th birthday last Wednesday.  We asked Rodney how father & son spent the day: “I asked him if he wanted to go out and eat, and he wanted a Nook to read.  He loves to read and he wanted me to make chili dogs.  So that’s what we did that day.  We got his Nook hooked up, and spent time being together.”
