Carrie’s Record & Tour Plans

It’s been two years since Carrie’s third album, “Play On,” was released.  Her most recent single, “Mama’s Song,” peaked back in January.  So it’s been a while since we’ve had new music from Carrie on the radio.  Speaking with Country Countdown USA host Lon Helton, Carrie said she wanted to take a break from public like for a bit. “I love to have summer.  If I tour, I tour in the first part and last part of the year so I can have summer.  It’s nice to take a step back.  And you have to fall in love with the music, because you can get so caught up in schedules and routine.  It can be so mechanical. So to me it’s nice to have the summer and come up with new, fresh ideas, and focus on the music and doing what you love.”

Are you able to get away? “Yeah! I’m not the kind of person who stresses about my work.  I leave work at work, and then I go home, and be with my husband.  We’ve been seeing family, I’ve been working, just not public.”

But Carrie quickly added that while she’s been away from the public, she’s been very busy, writing and recording new music for her next album. “2012 will be a big year.  I’ve already recorded a few songs, lent my vocals to 6 songs, now we’re filling in the gaps, making sure it’s right.  My biggest problem is having too many.  There are ones you don’t wanna let go of.  The bar is set high for sure on this one.”  Have you been writing? :Yes, Mike is gone during the day, practicing, working out, so I can work.” Back to tour next year? Yes, we don’t have any details worked out yet, but whatever it is, it’ll be great.”
