Brad & Carrie Look Ahead to CMAs

Brad Paisley & Carrie Underwood move from co-hosting Country Countdown USA to co-hosting the 45th annual CMA Awards.  It will be their fourth tour of duty on the awards show, and they told Lon Helton they’re just starting to think about it. “We have a few ideas, we’ve texted a few times.  We have a ton of meetings between now and then. We mostly figure out what we can’t say.  We’ll think we’re doing a good job and get our dreams squashed.  There are a few things they didn’t let us do that we wish we’d done.  Every year we get a little more leeway.”

So have they looked back at last year’s show? Brad said, “I do.  There were a couple moments last year where we had high points.  One of them was I was supposed to sing Lady Gaga songs.  It’s either gonna look like I’m committed, or a complete idiot.  Looking back at it, I loved it.”  How about Carrie?  “I do right afterwards.  I wanna see my dresses.”  So has the dress process begun?  “I definitely have some ideas.  They don’t come together til the end, but it’s gonna be a bit of a different feel for me this year.  You’ll have to tune in to find out.  We’re going to switch.  Brad’s going to wear the dresses.”  “A kilt.  So it’s cool and manly.”

The 45th Annual CMA Awards will take place on Wednesday November 9th, broadcast live on ABC-TV.
