Justin’s Bet With Darius

This week’s co-host Justin Moore spent most of last year on the road with Brad Paisley & Darius Rucker.  Justin is a die-hard fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, while Darius supports the South Carolina Gamecocks.  The two schools faced each other in football last fall, and so Justin & Darius made a bet, with the loser playing a show for the winner.  Guess who won!  Justin’s Razorbacks beat the Gamecocks by a scare of 41 to 20. 

When he was co-host, Darius told Lon Helton that he intended to make good on the bet.  We played that quote for Justin, who said, “I won’t rub salt in an open wound, so instead of making him open for me, which would be ridiculous, we’re going to do a benefit for St. Jude in my home town, and start my annual event.  But that shows what kind of guy he is.  He made a bet and he’s gonna do it.”

It’s only fair, since Justin just took part in Darius Rucker’s St. Jude benefit last month in Nashville.  By the way, South Carolina will once again face Arkansas in football on November 5th.
