Chris Young’s Kinda Party

This week’s co-host Chris Young is currently on the road with Jason Aldean’s My Kinda Party tour.  It’s become one of the year’s top tours, and Jason himself is topping the album sales and radio airplay charts.  Country Countdown USA host Lon Helton asked Chris about touring with Jason: “It’s absolutely amazing.  He’s on fire.  Being on that tour was a big deal for me.  He has some fans, and to be in front of a big crowd for 45 minutes is pretty awesome.”  Lon asked how the fans are reacting to Jason’s current hit, “Red Dirt Road:”The fans who are coming out to see Jason love it.  I think it;s cool.  A lot of people have split reaction on this song.  You look at the number of downloads this song has, it’s different but it’s cool.  That’s a brave thing for him to do.  He’s riding high, just coming off the “Don’t You Wanna Stay” duet with Kelly Clarkson, to come off that and put out a song that might not be everybody’s thing, people don’t credit him with taking that risk.  He had to step outside the box.”

WEB EXCLUSIVE: What have you learned about Jason?  “Great catering.  It’s not flat meat and sweatty cheeze.  The joke on the bus when I was by myself used to be, “Food’s up, it’s hot & brown and plenty of it.”  So he has good food, and he’s always real nice to me.”
