Chris Young’s Grammy Night
Chris Young attended his first Grammy Awards show as a nominee earlier this year. His #1 hit, “Gettin’ You Home” earned him a nomination for Best Country Male Vocal Performance. Although he lost to Keith Urban, Chris took advantage of the opportunity, and attended every possible event, including his record label’s post-Grammy event. He told Country Countdown USA host Lon Helton about his favorite moment at the Sony Music party: “I walked in, and Tony Bennett was sitting in the corner. Beyonce was walking around. It’s just a little surreal for me. They had only Sony music playing in the background, and I’m standing there, and ‘Gettin’ You Home’ comes on! So just for a second, I though, ‘I’m in a real nice suit, I’m at the Grammy Awards, and my song’s on.’ I just looked around and nodded. It was really cool!”

WEB EXCLUSIVE: Like all nominees, Chris Young walked the red carpet at the Grammy Awards. He saw Lady GaGa make her entrance in an egg. He told Lon, “She got so much press, and you’re required to walk the red carpet. It’s hot, you’re uncomfortable, it’s crazy, you’re talking to all these people, and she found a way to get so much publicity and didn’t do a single interview! She was so smart, she may not even have been in the dang thing!”
