The Flirtation: Kenny & Shania
The year was 2008. In May, Shania Twain announced her separation from husband Mutt Lange. In November, she attended the CMA Awards, where she presented the Entertainer of the Year award to Kenny Chesney. She looked ravishing in a low-cut Missoni gown, and Kenny couldn’t help but notice. After accepting the award, he walked to the microphone, turned to Shania, and said, “You look real good.”
Country Countdown USA host Lon Helton reminded Shania about that night, and she replied, “Yep, he flirted, I’ll take it as a compliment. He’s a nice guy, he’s been through his own things. I don’t know him personally, I know people who’ve worked with him and they love him, so he’s a good guy, so whatever his flirting was, I think it was all good intentions on his part, I’m sure.”
