Brantley Gilbert Wedding Details

| July 19, 2015

Lon Brantley 7-15 2Brantley Gilbert married his fiancé Amber on Sunday June 28th.  After a ten day honeymoon in the Virgin Islands, Brantley was ready to get back to work and one of the first things he did was co-host Country Countdown USA with Lon Helton.  One of the main subjects of the show was his wedding:

(B) “The ceremony was awesome. I’ll let you in on a little secret: I cried like a baby, and I’m not a crier, but she’s got a piece of my heart that nobody’s ever touched before. We decided to do our own vows, and you should’ve seen me do that. It was a great day, the weather was perfect. It was a Georgia wedding and we didn’t have any fistfights. It was a great time, and the honeymoon was great, I can’t think of anybody else I could spend 10 days attached to the hip with and not try to stab. Baby, we made it!”

(L) I saw you at the Chesney show in Green Bay, and you said you were getting married the following week, but when I said you were in Seattle next Saturday, you said: (B) “Yeah that was an accident. When I looked at my schedule, I didn’t have any Saturdays. But when I looked at that day, I thought I was in Washington DC. So I thought it was close. Then I get my itinerary, saw it was Seattle, and I’m like ‘Baby, I screwed up!” You can’t get farther from my house, but we made it work, and made it on time. I asked her if she was worried, and she said she never did, that she knew I’d get there cause she knew my life depended on it.”

(L) I’m sure there was a bill for a private jet that you hadn’t planned on: (B) “Oh for sure. But it was a fun trip. I had my brother in law on that trip, we had a great flight home. They treated it like it was my bachelor party all over again. I’m sober, so I just watched them.  We did my bachelor party 3 days before the Atlanta show. We went to my deer farm in Alabama, and blew stuff up, shot a lot of guns, sat around the campfire, and I had another bus to bring them to the show, and it was a pre-wedding hang out. Like a rehearsal dinner.”

(L) Was it a big wedding? (B) “No. We got married at our house. For it being a wedding in our hometown, we ended up with 200 guests, 8 groomsmen, it was a pretty ceremony. She wanted an outside church. They knocked it out and made her dream come true.”

(L) Did you perform at your own wedding? (B) “I did not. I was wrapped up in her. We had a band come and play.   They played ‘You Don’t Know Her Like I Do’ at the ceremony. It was a happy wedding. I just wanted to spend all my time with her.”

(L) Will Amber join you on the road? (B) “For sure. Over the past year and a half, she’s been out. I didn’t have a bus the last time we were together, I didn’t have two nickels, but she already has her bus legs. And she sleeps well on the bus. I love having her out, she’s my best friend and she’s so supportive, it’s always awesome to have her out.”

(L) When we were on your bus week before the wedding, and I noticed you had a wedding ring on, and I asked if you were already married, and you said: (B) “I’m practicing. I was practicing because I’ve had two hands full of rings for years. I made a deal with her, Baby when we get married, that’ll be the only ring on that hand. When you look at that hand, there ain’t no question I’m hers. So I was trying to get used to having only one ring on that hand. Right now what I had to do is take all my rings off, and just wear this one, and now I’m good with it. I don’t notice it, so I think I’ll be ready, I think the right hand is gonna be quite full now!” You can see his ring finger in the picture.
