Tim McGraw’s Christmas Plans

McGraw Christmas

With Christmas just two weeks away, Tim McGraw laughed when Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton asked him if he had finished his Christmas shopping. “It gets harder when the kids get older.  There was a time when I could get clothes for them, and they’d like it.  Now it’s jewelry, and even that gets hard.  I have three teenager daughters in my house now.  It’s tough to figure out what they want.  Money’s always good, but you still got to get ’em a gift. But we like to travel too, so that’s part of our agenda is traveling.  Then it gets tougher with Faith too.  But I’ll figure it out.”

How about presents for you? “I’m pretty good with some socks and some sweats.  I’m the low maintenance guy for sure.”

On to an easier subject: Christmas eve dinner with the family has been a longtime McGraw tradition: “Spaghetti & meatballs Christmas eve, although this year, we may be out of town, so we’ll do it earlier, but Christmas eve has always been spaghetti & meatballs or lasagna.  My mom is Italian, so that’s been a big tradition for us.  My whole family comes over, Faith’s brother & sister, my sisters and mom, it’s a big tradition.”

It sounds like you’re heading out of town for the holidays? “Well we still haven’t pulled the trigger on that yet.  As I said I have four women in my house, and there’s still dissention in the ranks, we’re still trying to figure it out.

Do you get a vote in the process? “I get a vote, but it doesn’t count.  So usually, whatever you guys decide, let me know, so I can pack the day before.”
