Josh Turner’s Baby Boy #4

JoshTurnerFamilyGood news for Josh & Jennifer Turner!  They are now the parents of FOUR young boys.  The latest, Samuel Hawke Turner, was born Thursday September 4th.  He joins older brothers Hampton, Colby, and Marion.  “God has truly blessed Jennifer and me with this healthy little boy,” shares Josh. “We are so thankful and excited to see our family grow yet again.”

Just last week, Country Countdown USA spoke with Josh about his family.  We asked him how feels about having four children: “Every one of them is different, but they’re all special, and you look forward to each one in a different way.  Having three, you look at each one and think, I can’t imagine life without this one or that one.  So I know we’re going to feel the same way about #4, and it’s just a child by child thing, all about your circumstances, and what you think you can handle, but so far we got a lot of love and a lot of things to be thankful for, and it’s gonna be fun.”

So with three boys already, what are their personalities like? “When Hampton was born, being the first one, he’s probably the brightest of all of them, he picks up on things so fast, he’s good at everything he does, he doesn’t have to try very hard.  But he also wears his heart on his sleeve, he’s very emotional, he has an artist heart.  With Colby, he’s just the opposite.  He’s happy-go-lucky, doesn’t have a care in the world, doesn’t try to learn everything like Hampton, and he’s probably the most affectionate.  With Marion, we didn’t know what to expect, and we got a little tornado.  He’s precious, but he’s very independent.  He wants to do everything his big brothers are doing.  When he wants something, he goes and gets it, and asks for forgiveness afterwards.  No asking permission.  So #4 will be interesting to see how he’s going to be.”

The other new thing in Josh’s life is a brand new single called “Lay Low.”  We asked Josh how this song came to him: “I was very picky about the songs that we were hearing, and it’s been a challenge.  It was a case of going above and beyond an average record.  I’ve heard a lot of good songs, but we wanted to go above and beyond that.  We wanted to be more selective, and just go for great songs, and ‘Lay Low’ was one of those great songs.  It wasn’t necessarily first choice, it was somewhat of a sleeper, and that’s OK.  There are songs that sneak up one people.  That’s what ‘Lay Low’ has been so far, and playing it live, the fans are liking it, it sets a mood and they’re honed in on what it says, they like what it says, they yearn for that escapism, go to that cabin in the woods, listen to the rain, turn your phone off, and just be.  For me, just where I’m at in my life, almost 37 years old with my fourth child on the way, having viewed my position as a platform to influence people in a positive way, ‘Lay Low’ fits in that category.”

Josh Turner is now performing “Lay Low” in his concerts, and the single will be released to radio next week.
