Garth Brooks: Wait Is Over 7/7

| July 3, 2014

Garth HOF 2012“The Wait Is Over 7/7.”  That’s the message at GarthBrooks.com.  So what does that mean?  It could be a big tour announcement, it could be new music, or it could be both. Here’s what we know: Garth’s lucky number is 7.  So making a major announcement on the 7th day of the 7th month, (probably at 7AM) is considered good luck for Garth. Back in December, Garth told Good Morning America that he would go on a World Tour starting in 2014.  It would most likely begin in September, as his youngest daughter enters college.  Typically artists announce tours about 2-3 months in advance to sell tickets.  Garth won’t have any problem doing that, but he also has to reserve the venues, and find out how many shows he’ll be doing in each town.  That’s based on ticket sales. The other thing we know is that Garth has been recording new music.  He put out the word a few months ago that he was looking for some traditional country songs.  So it’s likely that he will release the first full album of new material since “Scarecrow” in 2001. At the same time, Garth got some bad news from Ireland, where he will do five sold-out shows at the end of July.  It turns out residents near the stadium complained about potential noise.  Thursday, the city of Dublin refused permission for two of the concerts.  So Garth will only do three concerts.  It’s possible that Garth will address this situation as well on Monday.
