Eric Paslay’s Grammy Memory

| January 24, 2014

Eric Paslay GrammyThis is Grammy Weekend in LA.  One year ago, Eric Paslay was walking his very first Grammy red carpet.  He earned his first nomination for writing “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” for the Eli Young Band.  Now he’s co-hosting Country Countdown USA, and he shared his memories with Lon Helton: “It was mindblowing.  We didn’t win, and I always joke that we would have been such hypocrites if we won a Grammy for a song talkin’ about how it breaks your heart. So it was a fun way of looking at it.  It was a cool experience, and I’m thrilled to death that I got to know that feeling of ‘And the winner is…’  It’s such a weird feeling, and the wild thing about getting nominated, every single song in that category deserves to win.  But it’s a cool thing, from the battle of the bands to the Grammys, it’s cool to experience to that feeling.  I’m looking forward to experiencing the feeling of hearing your name called out, walking on stage, and mumbling out the thank yous.  It was just that thing of getting to be around so many people from all genres of music.  It was neat to be around creative people, we’re all in a daze.  That’s one of the things you always dream about, but never expect to happen.  Just to be there was awesome, thanks to the Eli Young Band for allowing me to have that experience.”

The winner for 2013 Best Country Song was “Blown Away.”
