Carrie: No New Music in 2013

| August 17, 2013

Carrie 8-8-13Carrie Underwood has a lot on her schedule this year, including hosting the CMA Awards for the 6th time, and the live revival of “The Sound Of Music.”  But she told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton that there’s no time for working on new music this year: “That’s really not on the schedule for this year.  I mean, we’re always listening to stuff, and if someone comes in with a great song I know I love, we’ll put our fork in it and say ‘That’s mine.’  But as far as writing and stuff like that, my whole fall will be devoted to The Sound of Music, so that’s gonna be something I’ll dive into as soon as that’s over.”

For now, Carrie has just released a DVD of her Blown Away Tour, and she’s thrilled with how it turned out: “It’s kind of more of a memento to me of this amazing time in my life.  We had this demand for a DVD, so many people who tweet me about it, so we had it, and why not put it together so people who came out could relive it, and those people who couldn’t see it can feel like they were part of it.”

In addition to the live performances, what will people see? “We filmed a lot of rehearsals, wardrobe, go behind the scenes on that.  I’m not a big ‘film my life’ kind of person, I could never do a reality show,  I’m a pretty boring person, there’s nothing to tape, so we kept that to a minimum.”

Is this from one show? “The concert footage is from one show in California, but the rest is from throughout the planning process, in different locations.”
