Carrie Builds Her Dream Home

| November 4, 2012

Carrie Underwood and husband Mike Fisher bought a few acres of land south of Nashville last summer.  With the labor dispute affecting Mike’s Nashville Predators hockey team, he’s had time to begin the planning of their new dream home.  Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton spoke with Carrie about Mike’s latest activities: “To be honest, he’s working out every day and skating every day, to make sure he’s ready.  He’s also golfing a lot, like one day he said he went golfing with Vince, and I went ‘Vince who?’  He said Vince Gill.  So we’re like house planning now too, and it’s gonna take a while.  We’re OK with that.  We hope to have it done in five years.  There’s a lot to build.  We want animals and horses, so we’re building a barn first.  Get everything planned out first and then get building.”

With the holidays coming up, that usually means a lot of guests coming over to visit.  So Lon asked Carrie what’s her signature dish?  “I’m a big appetizers person, so when people are coming over, I always make sure to have crackers, chips, and popcorn out.  I don’t eat things everyone else eats.  So even when people come over, Mike’s like the grill master.  He’s out grilling burgers outside, and I can make some veggies.”  And you’re OK with the smell of cooked meat?  “I actually LIKE the smell of cooked anything.  I notice fried things, like fried chicken, smells good, mostly because of the fried part, not the chicken.  Fried smells good.  I’m also a wine girl.  I’ve always got wine out.  I like red stuff.  Cabs are my favorite.”
